Ayumi Hamasaki Has Plastic Surgery Again?

Japanese pop star Ayumi Hamasaki released new single "L" recently. In order to keep her popularity high, this time she generously revealed her body to fans, only covering her chest with her chest as seen on a magazine cover. However, she can't avoid negative rumors as usual. It's said she had plastic surgery again and this time on her lips, making her thin lips appear full. Looking back at pictures in her earlier years, her face was not sharp and eye-catching compared to now, and it's the reason for her constant plastic surgery rumors over these years.

Besides plastic surgery rumors, she is also accused of taking people's ideas. Her album cover for "L" is similar to the cover of Taiwanese star Barbie Hsu (Da S)'s book, which both shares the same concept of holding a mask. Even her sexy photo shoot for ViVi magazine is said of copying Lady GaGa's magazine cover.

Leo Ku in a New Series With Super Junior's Heechul

37-years-old Leo Ku returned to television industry lately and will film CCTV's youth drama <<青春旋律>. along with Michelle Wai, Deep Ng. Leo would play a repeat student and play Michelle's boyfriend. Super Junior's Heechul and Super Junior-M's Zhou Mi would also join the cast. The scripts are mainly Mandarin, Cantonese, and Korean. Leo would have scenes with Heechul and yesterday the two didn't forget to take pictures together. Leo only knew simple Korean to greet. Because there would be a translator plus they have plenty of time to rehearse, there shouldn't be a problem to film.

Michelle, who just arrived yesterday, frankly said she isn't too close to Leo, but won't worry it would affect when they're filming romantic scenes: "Leo takes good care of me and Deep. He is very nice. I believe we can get closer soon."

Korean Actress Lee Young Ae is Four Months Pregnant

Korean actress Lee Young-ae’s agency has confirmed that the heroine of smash hit Korean TV series “Jewel in the Palace” is four months pregnant.

“It is true that she is pregnant and we were going to inform the press at an adequate time because this is when a pregnant woman is most cautious but it seems like the news has gone out through her father”, Lee Ju-yeol, chief of Lee’s agency Storm S Company told Asia Economic Daily over the phone on Friday.

A report in the August issue of monthly magazine Lady Kyunghyang had first broken the news, quoting the actress’s father who said the family recently found out about Lee’s pregnancy.

He had also explained that they do not know yet whether it is a boy or a girl but both sides of her family are happy over the news.

Lee Ju-yeol added that the actress plans to halt all activities and focus on prenatal care until she gives birth.

Actress Lee, 39, has yet to make an acting comeback since getting married last August but she had been shooting television commercials while studying for a doctoral degree in theater and cinema at Hanyang University.

Best known for her role in hit TV drama “Jewel in the Palace” (”Dae Jang Geum”), Lee took all of Asia by surprise last year when she married a 55-year-old Korean-American businessman in Hawaii.

Vivian Hsu Is the Only Chinese Star to Appear On Bea's Up Magazine

Vivian Hsu returned to Japanese showbiz earlier and has a good comeback already. She is even on the cover on Japanese beauty magazine "Bea's Up" lately. Artistes who are able to appear on the cover of this magazine are usually popular Japanese stars like Ayumi Hamasaki and Ueto Aya, etc. Vivian becomes the cover girl of this magazine again after eight years. Staff who once worked with her before were amazed that she didn't change too much compared to 8 years ago.

Vivian accepted interview and talked about her experiences as an actor. She said in order to get close with her character, every time she receives her scripts, she would try to erase her real personality. Like recently she is filming new film "Juliet" produced by Ang Lee. She plays a girl with poliomyelitis. Even when she doesn't have to film her part, she would keep her status from the film.

South Korean Star Park Yong Ha Found Dead in His Home‎

SEOUL - South Korean entertainer Park Yong Ha, one of the most sought after actors in South Korea and a popular singer in Japan, was found dead in his home in Seoul on Wednesday in an apparent suicide, local media reported.

Park’s body was found by his mother with an electrical cord around his neck but there was no suicide note, The Korea Herald quoted police as reporting.

Park, 32, had recently devoted himself to nursing his ailing father who was in the final stages of stomach cancer. He was reported to have been struggling with sleep problems as well.

Park made his acting debut in 1992 but rose to fame in 2002 in the television drama "Winter Sonata," winning a following in Japan and other nations in southeast Asia.

He also forged a career for himself as a singer in Japan where he put out 10 hit albums in the past five years and won four consecutive Japan Gold Disc Awards — a first for a Korean pop singer.

He was due to start filming in July for a Korean television drama called "Comrades, Almost a Love Story," which is a remake of a popular 1996 Hong Kong film.

Park’s death comes after a string of suicides by South Korean celebrities in recent years.

Figures from the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in 2009 show that South Korea’s suicide rate experienced a sharp increase from the late 1990s and South Korea now has the highest rate among OECD countries of around 22 deaths per 100,000 people.

Lee Hyori Admits Plagiarizing Songs

By: Lee Hyo-won@Korean Times

Amid an escalating plagiarism debate, pop star Lee Hyo-ri admitted herself that several tracks from her fourth album were indeed borrowed, Yonhap News reported Sunday.

Her agency Mnet Media plans to sue the songwriter who gave the songs to Lee if the songs in question are proven to breach copyright laws.

``There were problems regarding the pieces by (the newcomer songwriter) Bahnus Vacuum,'' said Lee in a message posted on her fan website. ``At first I was convinced that the demo tape of the songs suffered (premature) exposure. I didn't have any doubts since I received the songs through the company (Mnet Media). But after an investigation it turns out that they were not Bahnus' songs.''

Seven titles on her latest recording ``H-Logic''are credited to Bahnus Vacuum (real name Lee Jae-young). There has been much debate over the originality of the songs for some time now among netizens but Mnet Media previously issued a statement upholding Bahnus' claim that the demo tracks were prematurely exposed.

``It took some time to track down the original songs because they were all borrowed from foreign pieces. Two were proven to be based on other works. We contacted the original songwriter and we are discussing the matter. As much as I have caused harm, albeit unintended, I will take the responsibility,'' the 31-year-old singer said of the songs ``Feel the Same,'' ``How Did We Get,'' ``I'm Back,'' ``Memory,'' ``Geunae'' (Swing) and ``Highlight.''In April netizens pointed out that Lee's ``Bring It Back'' resembles Canadian girl band Cookie Couture's ``Boy, Bring It Back,'' while ``Feel the Same'' was similar to Canadian singer Melanie Durrant's song of the same name. ``How Did We Get'' was compared to ``How Did We'' by U.S. singer Jason Derulo, while ``I'm Back'' was measured against Canadian singer Lil Precious' ``So Insane.'' ``Memory''was noted for its resemblance to ``The Alphabet Song'' by British band Second Person.

Mnet Media said that it contacted the foreign songwriters of the songs in question via email beginning in April, and received a reply from the agencies of Cooki Couture and Second Person. The issue is currently being discussed between lawyers representing the respective artists.

SMAP Cancels Event At Shanghai World Expo

Source: Mingpao / Translated by: KAY

J-Pop group SMAP originally planned to hold their first oversea concert at Shanghai Expo Cultural Center on June 13. But yesterday afternoon, Shanghai World Expo Coordination Bureau announced on its official website that the event has been canceled due to safety concern. It's said in order to avoid the the same thing happening at the "Korean Classical and Pop Concert," where more than 2,000 visitors stormed the South Korean pavilion and more than 100 people were injured, so the organization decided to cancel this event. SMAP expressed through their management company that they feel sorry and it's a pity.

Yesterday morning, Japanese media were already reporting the expo is considering canceling SMAP's concert. They said at the opening ceremony on May 1, it was a mess when visitors were fighting for their admission tickets to the Chinese pavilion. Plus on May 30, it was a stampede when thousands of fans came to watch Super Junior, BoA and Ahn Chil Hyun etc's free performance in "Korean Classical and Pop Concert." After the incident, many Japanese netizens already predicted that SMAP might cancel their upcoming performance due to safety issue. Considering SMAP's popularity and it's also a free show, the organization is worried the same chaos might happen again.

Once the reports were out, fans who planned to go to Shanghai to enjoy SMAP's performance were shocked and confused. It was until yesterday that the bureau announced on the official website that"with the rapid increase of visitors, it has decided to cancel the concert due to safety concern. Officials hope fans will understand the decision."

SMAP's performance in Shanghai Expo is supposed to be their first oversea concert since their formation in 1988. Besides the fans, SMAP's 5 members including Kimura Takuya are very excited about it. After the cancelation of the show was announced yesterday, SMAP disclosed their through management company: "Now, once we think about fans' feelings of waiting to meet us, we feel it's a pity, but we believe there must be another chance that we can meet fans in China who have been waiting for us."

Jang Dong Gun To Be A Father In October

Source: Korea Times / By: Lee Hyo Won
Actress Ko So Young revealed that she is three months pregnant, Thursday, ahead of her marriage next month to heartthrob Jang Dong Gun.

``Ko So Young has reached the third month of her pregnancy. She will become a mother around September or October,’’ Jang’s management agency AM Entertainment said.

The couple revealed in November 2009 that they had been dating since 2007, and announced plans to tie the knot in March. Rumors of Ko being with child started circulating when the couple made visits to each other’s parents ― which is considered a formal gesture to wed here ― in mid-February.

``When the two began preparations for the wedding earlier this year, they considered having children the top priority. Considering their age, both sets of the couple’s parents wanted them to have a baby as soon as possible,’’ said the agency about Jang and Ko, who are both 38 years old.

``Jang Dong Gun and Ko So Young, as well as their parents and family, are extremely delighted about the pregnancy and are celebrating. They think it is the best wedding gift ahead of the ceremony.’’

According to local reports, Ko had been spotted frequenting an OB/GYN in southern Seoul. Last year, Jang quit smoking cold turkey, following Ko’s suggestion, and some speculate that it was part of preparations to have a baby.
