Sonija Kwok to Wed At the End of the Year

Rumors said Sonija Kwok's action choreographer boyfriend took special care of her, that's how he touched her heart. Then later rumors said the couple is rushing marriage in April because Sonija is pregnant. But none of them are true. Here we have the actress telling the real story herself. One thing we sure is, it's all fated.

It was reported Sonija and her boyfriend Zhu Shaojie's close interaction on the filming set of Mainland drama "Palace" made them become lovers, but actually they weren't too close at work. Sonija's role didn't require that much action scenes; even if she needed assistance, it was Zhu's assistant choreographer who helped out. So how did they really get to know each other?

"A few days before we were done filming, someone said he would introduce a guy to me," said Sonija. "I joked, 'Okay! Then ask whether he dares to hold my hand!' Since I'm not young anymore, and has some fame, not many people dared to pursue me."

Sonija didn't know the guy she was being introduced to will become her Mr. Right. Although she was introduced to some people the past years, but none were right matches, which made her well-prepared to become a "remaining woman." But this changed when she met Zhu. She dined with him another day and it was quite embarrassing start.

"We didn't know what to say. We said goodbye after the dinner."

Two days after their first dinner together, Sonija had to return to Hong Kong to film a new drama. Zhu was there at the airport and brought her 100 red roses. Who isn't touched by 100 red roses? Because she couldn't bring the flower bouquet to the plane, she only took one flower out. This was when they decided to give it a try.

However, they were experiencing a distant relationship; she was in Hong Kong and he was in other places. Their only communication was via phone, text messages, and Skype. Although it was like that for more than 3 months, but the relationship still went well.

"We had good communications. It felt right. I like how he is just like me, like to stay at home. Plus we haven't date for several years, and have been waiting for a right match, so we hit it off quickly."

After filming new drama <抉擇男女>, Sonija finally got to enjoy being in love. She is currently on a vacation with Zhu and even decided to become Mrs. Zhu at the end of the year.

"I went to Mainland and met his family. That day he knelt down with a diamond ring and proposed. I was very moved and dropped tears. He is simple, practical, good to his family, and hardworking. I feel very comfortable loving him. I can say what I want to him. This is the simple happiness."

Sonija is planning out her wedding now engaged to Zhu,. It was originally set to be on April, but she doesn't want to prove the media really guessed it right, so she moves it to at the end of this year.

"We would invite close friends and relatives to our wedding. I don't want to make it like a show. Then we would return to Mainland and have dinner with his family."

Sonija will continue her career as an actress. As for having kids, it's a must to the 36-year-old.

"My mom always urges me to have kids. My fiance loves kids, too," she said sweetly. "So it's hard to not right?"

The couple seem to be fated to be together---they actually met each other already in 2000. Sonija was filming "A Step Into the Past" with Louis Koo and Zhu was the stunt double at that time. They even took a photo together as a group. Who knew they would meet again and even decide to be together?

Sonija Kwok in Love With Action Choreographer

Sonija Kwok seems to have found her Mr. Right.

Entered the showbiz in 1999, the 36-year-old is always caught in rumors with male leads she works with. Although she dated a few prominent male stars in the past, but it ended up hurting her career instead.

However, after years of searching, Sonija seems to have found her man recently. The TVB actress went to Mainland to shoot drama "Palace" last July. During filming, she met a Mainland action choreographer Zhu Shaojie (朱少杰), who is said to look like Nick Cheung. The 30-year-old took special care of Sonija, teaching her kungfu and spending birthday with her. He even gave support when Sonija was being affected by some negative rumors, advancing their relationship to another stage.

Sonija herself didn't deny her new relationship. She accepted a phone interview and disclosed she and Zhu are in stage of getting to know each other. But she expressed some feelings on Weibo yesterday, hinting she already sees Zhu as her marriage partner.

"Holding your hand, growing old with you. Life is like a drama. Drama is like a life. Everyone, don't gossip anymore. Watch dramas we filmed diligently! '7 Days in Life' and 'Palace'!"

After half year of dating, it's even rumored the actress would tie the knot with Zhu in April. As for their wedding news, it would be confirmed later in the future.

Steven Ma Sucks on Sonija Kwok's Mouth

Looks like Steven Ma has a new nickname.

Steven Ma and Sonija Kwok's new series "7 Days in Life" was premiered yesterday and the two already have kissing scenes in first episode [little spoiler from Kay: in their hotel room]. But they are not embarrassed to film these scenes and Steven even discusses with Sonija before hand on how to perform the scene.

Now looking at their kissing scene photos, Sonija points out Steven looks like a cuttlefish that keeps sucking her mouth.

"The shape of his mouth when kissing looks like cuttlefish's suckers," she says. "He is Mr. Sucker."

Their friendship was broken once because of misunderstanding, now Steven and Sonija had reunited when filming "7 Days in Life." Sonija hopes to be friends with Steven forever, even better if they can group as a pair of on-screen couple.

Sonija Kwok Denies Flirting With Michael Miu

Oh boy! Sonija Kwok is once again accused of flirting with cast members during filming!

The TVB actress is currently filming new series <抉宅男女> and she plays the wife of Michael Miu. It has only been two months and already rumored the actress is flirting with Miu. The two hold hands during and outside of filming, causing Miu's wife Jaime Chik to check on them at the filming set.

As for rumored with male leads again, Kwok did not even want to clear it up: "It's too fake. I don't want to promote for the magazine."

Later the day, the 35 year old vented out her anger on Weibo: "As for the recent magazine story, I have nothing to say."

Her newest rumored partner Miu replied to Kwok's message: "A Team from 'Gun Metal Grey' needs to come out and solve this case. Have to bring the forensics people to the company to search evidence...haha! Just treat it as free promotion. Don't affect your mood. You know, I know, even my wife knows, just for a laugh."

Miu later expressed in a phone interview that his wife is not mad at all: "But we are worried about Sonija. We play a couple in the series. She told me she is quite stressed about working with me because there are always negative news when she worked with other male actors in the past, so she isn't dared to come near me during break. But I told her to just relax."

Miu's wife also supports Kwok: "I've known her for more than 10 years. She endorsed for our eye-glasses store when she just made her debut to the showbiz. It's bad how she is quiet and nice, but other people still write negative things about her."

Miu's wife also exposed her husband likes to hold hands with others: "He would even do that with hairstylists. I hold hands with other actors during filming, so he should be angry at me, too?"

Kwok always have rumors with actors she works with. Notably with Michael Tao, which was rumored to have caused Tao's marriage to fall apart. For a list of Kwok's rumors, check here.

TVB to Film HK Version of Mainland Series 'Dwelling Narrowness'

(Poster of series "Dwelling Narrowness")

Although "Beauty Knows No Pain" and "Mysteries of Love" are accused of plagiarism, but TVB doesn't mind and would continue this trend, copying Mainland's hit series "Dwelling Narrowness." This HK version would start filming next month and titled <<抉宅男女>>. Linda Chung, Joyce Tang, Ron Ng, and Michael Tse would be in various relationships. Michael Miu would pair with Sonija Kwok. Linda's character is just like "Hai Zao" in "DN," who would not hesitate to commit indecent deals in order to climb up to the ladder.

As for this new series is obviously copying "DN," producer Cheung Kong Man didn't feel there is a problem: "You need to share good things with others and promote it. New series would talk about housing problems. It's the same in Shanghai and Hong Kong, housing is a problem residents are facing. It's also a way for viewers to vent their emotions."

Currently busy filming "Yes Sir, No Sir," Linda said she already received DVDs of "DN" and plans to watch it right away after work: "Producer already told me to pay close attention to 'Hai Zao.' (Copying obviously?) I'm an actor. My responsibility is to portray characters well."

Although Sonija hasn't received notice of filming this series, but she said she would feel proud of working with Michael Miu: "I worked with him once in 'Au Revoir Shanghai,' but I died when I appeared. (TVB copying?) Everyone is doing it. American's 'Infernal Affairs' copied Hong Kong's."

Sonija Kwok Refuses to Admit She's A 'Remaining Woman' and is Waiting For New Love

Sonija Kwok attended to an opening ceremony of a bakery as guest yesterday. Asked whether she paid attention to Michael Tao, who was her ex-rumored boyfriend, has new rumors? Sonija said: "Didn't pay attention. Won't say too much and reply. (Whether still waiting for new love?) I'm waiting, can't rush. Plus that person hasn't appear yet. Now my career is the most important one. I can't stop working and wait. In fact my requirements are still the same as 10 years ago. But maybe it won't be the same to the one I'm getting married with." Asked whether she worries she is set as "remaining women," Sonija said: "People have their mouths and can say whatever they can. But I think waiting and didn't find one yet doesn't mean you're a 'remaining woman.' You can be happy even when you're single, nothing to concern. (Will open up your love life when you date?) The one you're dating doesn't necessary mean he is the one you're getting married with. Anyways, I will definitely let everyone know when I get married."

Sonjia Kwok's Loyal Fans Flies Over to Hengdian to Celebrate Her Birthday

Recently, Sonjia Kwok has been busy filming a costume drama in Hengdian and even had to spend her birthday at work. Fortunately a group of her loyal fans flew over to her location to visit the set and also celebrate with her. They cut the birthday cake with her and gave gifts, Sonjia was very happy, no wonder she expressed: "More than 10 fans especially flew over here. Besides Hong Kong, there are also fans from Taiwan and even Canada, I'm so touched! Actually there's not much to buy in Hengdian, but they are so smart, found a small cake to buy and celebrate with me."

As the local temperatures there reached 40 degrees C, Sonjia had to wear thick costumes for outdoor filming, fortunately she did not get a heatstroke. She said: "All thanks to the attentive fans, they gave me an ice pillow to pull on my neck, feels so comfortable. They also gave me a teddy bear, a cute doll that looks like me, fresh flowers and cake! So happy!"

Sonjia rarely has rumors in the last year, but she's still single. She said that she's not in a rush to date: "My family hasn't rushed me to marry because my older brother got married earlier. I do envy him, but there has to be fate when finding a boyfriend. As a person grows older, it's not as easy to have feelings towards someone. My birthday wish is good health. Although it's old-fashioned, but health is really important. Earlier my dad had some health issues, stomach bleeding, luckily he's ok now." As for ex-rumored boyfriend Michael Tao recently having a new love interest, she said: "No comment, it's none of my business!"

Outside of work, Sonjia went to Japan for a vacation with some friends earlier and even got to try driving a small airplane to challenge herself. She said: "This is one of my greatest wishes. Before I drove, the instructor was explaining to me for 50 minutes. Actually it's not too difficult, I even flew with my mom and brother. Although they said that it was a very stabled ride, I was still really scared, haha!"

Kate Tsui and Sonija Kwok Prove They're Good Sisters

Sonija Kwok and Kate Tsui both had rumors with Chan Kwok Keung. Their new series "When Lanes Merge" to be aired next Monday and it's currently in promotion period. Suddenly rumors of them not getting along appeared. It's known during filming Kate doesn't like Sonija, often bully Sonija on purpose. Having a benevolent personality, Sonjia accepted whatever that came and didn't fight back, but other people felt bad for her. Whether the rumor is true or not, during promotion the two appeared to be good friends, holding one's waist and put hand on one's shoulder, trying to be good sisters!

35-year-old Sonija and 31-year-old Kate are 1999 and 2004 Miss Hong Kong champion, also champion with four awards. Sonija had rumors with Chan in 2006. It was rumored she received a car and house, and was appointed to be female lead in movie "Operation Undercover." But the rumor faded away after a while. As for Kate, she moved into an expensive house earlier this year and was rumored with Chan. She denied it immediately and said she rent the house with her own money, and didn't know who is Chan.

But since the two once had rumors with Chan, when they're collaborating in the same series it's hard to avoid rumors. It's known Kate would bully Sonija during filming, saying things about her and trouble her on purpose when they have scenes together. But Sonija took everything in and didn't dare to fight back. Seeing Kate's action, others dislike what she does and are outraged for injustice.

Yesterday the two attended to the promotion of "When Lanes Merge" and appeared to be good friends, often looking at each other and laughed happily. After taking group photo, Kate held Sonija's waist and Sonija put her arms on Kate's shoulder, proving good sisterhood. Kate even joked Sonija doesn't have a boyfriend yet, very dry! Reporters asked confirmation of them not getting along, Sonjia expressed through her manager: "No such thing, nothing to reply." Kate didn't reply, and her manager said everyone got along well during filming.

Actors from the series got together in a promotion event outside a taxi company and a taxi was arranged for Kate and Sonija. When Kate was getting into the taxi, her head accidentally hit rare view mirror and she joked receeiving a head reward" [in Cantonese, it means winning first prize in general] is good luck. In the series, she, Sonija and Raymond Wong would have a love triangle relationship. But in reality she and Sonija's love life are very dry? She said yes, get dry together, hoping series would receive good ratings and that means someone would appear in her love love, because good ratings means good popularity, "peach bossom" would appear. She is confident in this series, whether worry World Cup would affect ratings? She said she isn't worried. As long as the plot is compacted, hope viewers support and don't change channel.

Sonija said her love life is blank, can't demand forcefully. She isn't worried and let it be. She didn't have rumors while filming the series and was very happy working with other actors. Kent Cheng taught her a lot. The plot talks about the harm of drunk driving, very meaning, she hopes to have ratings above 30 points.

Deric Wan Denies Reuniting With Sonija Kwok

Source: Oriental Daily
Translated by: KAY
Sonija Kwok and Deric Wan started dating in 2002 during filming of "The Legend of Love", but the two split after 2 years. Lately Deric expressed he couldn't forget "her" cuteness and always dreams about "her" on his blog. Others suggested he reunite with Sonija. Reports also pointed out Sonija said Deric always call and talk to her. Others also reported he came to Hong Kong to buy Benz.

Currently filming commercial in Mainland, Deric accepted a long distance phone interview, and admitted buying two Benz in Hong Kong. It's to reward himself and is also a gift to his girlfriend Winnie in Hong Kong. But as for him reuniting with Sonija, he denied: "These past years I never called her. (Sonija said you always call her?) Someone is telling lies. (You guys still friends?) We can be friends, but really didn't contact each other. (Flirt with each other on blogs?) Not talking about her, it was talking about a Mainland star, she passed away due to accident. She belonged to my management company. I felt sad when I thought of her. But someone twisted the whole thing. there has been relief going on, they still did pointless things like that. Tell those devils to stop quickly, otherwise go to hell."

However, Sonija sounded frustrated on the phone interview: "I didn't say he calls me all the time, this is ridiculous! Things he wrote on the blog were a long time ago, his fans told me, I also worry others might relate to other things. I called him personally, he said he wasn't talking about me, it's OKAY, actually we're still friends after the break-up. But didn't see each other, maybe once or twice on the phone per year."

When Sonija was asked again in TV city, she replied: "He didn't say he wants to pursue me again, neither do I. He has a girlfriend, would wish him happy."

Steven Ma Kisses Koni Lui Because of Sonija Kwok

Steven Ma and Sonija Kwok play a thief couple in upcoming TVB series "7 Days in Life." Steven said his character in this series is very flirty. Besides having kissing scenes with Sonija, in a scene where he has to make Sonija mad, he purposely kiss Koni Lui with passion. After reading the script, the two both said the plot is quite extreme. Asked whether they would feel embarrassed for the kissing scene, they said they know each other quite well so there won't be any embarrassment. It's just that Steven worried Koni is too tall and it would hard to kiss.
