Film 'The Grandmasters' Poster Exposed

Director Wong Kar Wai's upcoming film about wing chun master Ip Man "The Grandmasters" (一代宗師) has been put on hold for nearly 8 years and it was not until last year the team officially started filming. Although the film is not done filming nor the release date has been confirmed, but at least one of the film's posters is finished, as it has exposed in the American Film Market.

In this American version poster, lead Tony Leung Chiu Wai's version of Ip Man is fighting against his enemies in the rain and his stand makes him powerful already. Foreign media even describes Tony as the Chinese dark knight.

Martial arts choreographer of the film Yuen Wo Ping greatly praises Tony's current status for the film's action scenes. "I never worried about him," he says, "Talking about body figures, Tony looks better than Donnie Yen. It is unbelievable that there is strength in Tony's kicks. He does have the potential to film action films."

Another photo from the film is leaked and it is the female lead of the film Ziyi Zhang. Her role is yet to be introduced, but based on the photo, she is playing someone who should be skillful in using Ba Gua Zhang.

In addition, some netizens actually suggest to name the film "Yeahman" instead, seems like they want to bring Ip Man into the foreign superhero family (like Superman, Batman, Ironman, etc).

Tony Leung Buys Couple Jewelry to Make Wife Happy

Director Wong Kar Wai announced filming new film <一代宗师> in 2002, but it wasn't until last year that he began filming. Male lead Tony Leung Chiu Wai seems being fooled by his good friend. He didn't know when the film will be done filming, and often have to fly back and forth from Hong Kong to Mainland.

Tony's wife Carina Lau of course isn't too happy about it. Earlier when she promoted film <> in Beijing, she first said box office of <> definitely can't be better than <一代宗师>, then she pointed Wong is slow at making films, and may not get it done in time by New Year. It's known her sharp comments surprised Tony, but he doesn't want to offend his good friend nor wife, so he prepared some surprises to make Carina happy.

Tony returned HK recently and was photographed showing up at a jewelry store in Central. Tony didn't have time to pick the perfect gift that when the sales brought out a bracelet, he didn't look at the style closely and already told sales to wrap it. He didn't take 10 minutes to finish buying the gift. He had to go back to Beijing right away and it's believe he will have a short meeting with wife over there.

In fact, <一代宗师> held a press conference 8 years ago and Tony even went to learn Wing Chun from son of Ip Man, master of Wing Chun. However, many obstacles occurred. When the film finally started filming last year, Tony's left hand broke during practice and they had to delay filming. James Cameron took 10 years to finish Avatar, is Wong trying to break that record?

Tony Leung Shops Alone In Central

After Carina Lau was photographed with a Mainland rich man, husband Tony Leung's mood has been pretty bad. Earlier when he attended to an event in Shanghai, he even canceled reporters' interview, which isn't his usual style of answering any type of question. Tony is back home after several days. Yesterday he shopped alone in Central. Wearing a sunglasses, he was asked how come wife Carina wasn't with him? When he heard wife's name, Tony only smiled and didn't answer. He then got on his car and left. It seems they ironed out their problem already.

Cecilia Cheung and Tony Leung to Collaborate in New Film

Source: Singtao / Translated by: KAY @ kays-entertainment.blogspot.com
Cecilia Cheung attended to a bed event yesterday in Shanghai. Seems to have lost some weight, Cecilia expressed she would partner up with Tony Leung Chiu Wai next February to film Derek Yee's new film. She expressed she never retired from showbiz, so there isn't anything such as making a comeback with Tony. As for reports said mother-in-law Deborah objected Lucas stepping into the showbiz, Cecilia denied it and redressed for Deborah.

Eleven years ago, Cecilia collaborated with Tony in "Tokyo Raiders." Next February she would collaborate with him again, filming Derek Yee's new romance film. Asked whether she wants to make her comeback with Tony? She replied: "I never retired. Just earlier I spent almost 7 years having children. At this moment I don't plan to have any again, so I come out to film." She expressed Tony is very cool and is a very nice person. She feels very lucky to collaborate with him again. Because haven't film for a long time, Cecilia expressed she is a little worried: "Haven't been to the place where we would film. Don't know whether I would feel strange." As for whether filming Stephen Chow's "King of Comedy 2," she doesn't know who would star in the film, whether she would be in it or not, so she doesn't want to answer this question.

Earlier it's said husband Nicholas Tse intends to live in Shanghai, Cecilia cleared up for him: "Never plan to, if there is a chance, we would buy a house in Shanghai, but won't give up our house in Hong Kong." It's said Deborah objected Lucas stepping into the showbiz, Cecilia said: "No such thing, I really have to speak for my mother-in-law, I'm the luckiest and happiest daughter-in-law, having a great mother-in-law like her. She always respect me and Nicholas, won't interfere any of our business. Sometimes I feel bad and heartache, how come outsiders have to say she is bad, definitely not. Hope media be more lenient, give her some space. She treats me very well, I don't have any unsatisfactory." When talking about Deborah, Cecilia's eyes went teary once. As for whether would allow her son to join showbiz, she expressed she won't force him to do things he doesn't like, as long as he's happy, now just want him to have fun.

Carina Lau and Tony Leung Give Up On Artificial Insemination

44-year-old Carina Lau and 47-year-old Tony Leung have been trying to have a baby since the two got married in July 2008. Whenever Lau is seen wearing loose clothing, she would be asked about whether she's pregnant or not. However, no good news from the two still after two years.

In order for Lau to be pregnant, before they got married, Sandra Ng introduced them to well-known gynecologist Ho Wing Chiu and they went to ask for help. Their friends disclosed that the two had tried numerous types of artificial inseminations. Lau even had FSH injections before marriage. They spent more than 500,000HKD to transfer embryos, but still no success up to today. Knowing the chance of getting pregnant is very tiny, Lau expressed lately they won't insist on pregnancy anymore, let nature take its course.
