Andy Lau, 50, Confirms Wife is Pregnant

Finally a baby for the heavenly king!

There are reports last week reporting Andy Lau's wife Carol Chu, 45, is finally pregnant via IVF. After being crowned as the Golden Horse film king last night, the happy Andy decided to tell everyone another happy news:

"Ok, let's talk about family matters," he wrote on his official website. "I understand my beloved family has been praying for that matter...so now *a baby is on the way, hope to share this happiness with everyone."

(*Andy didn't directly say that, but that's the actual meaning from his hint)

Famous radio host Char Siu Yan also confirmed this news. She expressed she texted the actor to congratulate him and received a thank-you reply.

The couple has been trying hard to have a child the past 3 years. There were constant baby rumors circulating during the period but none of them was true. Now they are finally parents-to-be, let's wish them the best!

Andy Lau Avoids Talking About Wife's Pregnancy

It's rumored Andy Lau's wife Carol Chu is 3 months pregnant, but until today Andy has yet officially announced this good news. Even when being interviewed by a Mainland website, he only talk about work.

As for holding his 30th anniversary concert at the end of the year, Andy expresses it would be memorable and touching. "Very touched, because it's hard to support someone for 30 years. Just like you making a friend, or loving someone, it's also hard to keep the relationship for 30 years," he says. He didn't think about retiring from the industry. "If there are still people who want me to be in their films even when I'm 70, I would do it. If I quit, but come back later, then everyone would doubt whether there is a problem with my family," he says.

Over these years, Andy isn't enthusiastic about breaking into Hollywood. "My attitude is, I don't really mind. Or, is it worthy to spend a lot of time doing this thing? Some people might think it's a glory for Chinese people. Then let me ask, who got a very good career after going to Hollywood? I looked at too many scripts that aren't prepared for Chinese, or only let Chinese to play supporting roles. If they let me play Spiderman now, then I'll say yes," he says.

Andy Lau is a dad-to-be?

Is the heavenly king finally becoming a dad? Recently a magazine reveals Andy Lau's wife Carol Chu is 3-months pregnant. The 44 year old was seen shopping with friends in a loose shirt and her belly appears to be growing. An eyewitness even witnessed she going to see gynecologist in St. Paul Hospital. She was accompanied with a housemaid and two bodyguards. When a kid was running towards her, the bodyguards walked up to her immediately, afraid she will get bumped on the belly. The report says in order to let Carol have a peaceful time while carrying the baby, Andy bought a new house and new car just for her.

According to the recent reports, Andy has yet replied. His management company expresses they won't interfere artistes' personal life. Even Andy's good friend Hacken Lee says he didn't know about the pregnancy, and will go ask Andy when there is a chance.

Just celebrated his 49th birthday, if the rumor is true, this would be the best birthday gift for Andy.

Andy Lau Gets Emotional At Birthday Party, Fans Won't Leave Him

Tomorrow is the heavenly king Andy Lau's 49th birthday. Suffered from the secret marriage incident last year, yesterday he held a birthday party to celebrate with fans, and his parents appeared as special guests. But wife Carol Chu didn't show up.

Andy danced and sang at the party, making it seem like a mini concert. He got emotional towards the end and had to wipe tears constantly. Then staff brought out a huge cake with many photos of him over these years, and invited his parents to the stage to cut the cake and open changpane.

Asked whether hiding his marriage made him emotional, Andy felt fans treat him very well and it's hard to not feel moved; he doesn't know how to say it but really have to thank fans' support. However, since he would hold a concert in December, they probably want to save money and come to Hong Kong by then.

Andy disclosed besides birthday party, he also had a tea party with fans today and he would celebrate with family tomorrow. Asked what gift did wife gave him? He smiled and said he really won't answer this question. It's said his concert tickets sold out, he said he is trying to buy tickets for his fan club, but because company reserved many tickets for sale, he couldn't buy much on his own.
