Myolie Wu Fights Back The Title of 'Out-of-tune Myolie'

Source: Mingpao
Translated: KAY
Myolie Wu attended to "Super Voice Concert" as performing guest last night. She hot danced with first season's Austan Lam Sze Kit, Alfred Hui Ting Heng, and Daniel Chau Chi Hong. When she performed "芳華絕代", it seemed like she's out-of-tune and also her voice was overshadowed by the three guys. She was crowned with "Out-of-tune Myolie." Yesterday Myolie wrote on Weibo, she knew it wasn't a perfect performance, but it wasn't that bad to get this title. She said: "Really want to cry, I've been in the business for 11 years, everyone may think I should've transformed, but it really is hard!"

"芳華絕代" is a very low-key song. In the beginning she was afraid she couldn't handle it, during practice her assistant once told her that her voice couldn't be heard, but Myolie can hear it on her headphone. She cannot believe others would say she's out-of-tune and tripped, making her hard work seems a waste. She doesn't mind others criticizing her flat body, but she really likes to sing. No matter how much difficulty she has to overcome, she would continue to work hard, hoping to be perfect, but she wants to say: "I'm not perfect."

Although contestants from "The Voice 1" were the focus that night, but the Gods from "Fun With Liza and Gods" caused climax. Besides dancing and singing, they also exposed their photos from the past and old-fashioned costume photos. Seeing the audience responded enthusiastically and supported the Gods to hold a concert, Louis Yuen asked Virgina Lok on the stage: "Ms. Lok, then we should hold a concert, ticket can be 480 dollars per one." He also joked he found his dream.

Another performing guest Raymond Lam sang "Let's Get Wet" with Alfred and Austan. During the performance, Raymond hugged hot girls, self-touched, and also touched chest muscle of topless male dancer, causing many to scream.

Myolie Wu Welcomes 'The Voice' Members With Dirty Dancing

Source: Oriental Daily

Last night Myolie Wu went to practice in HK coliseum with members from "The Voice" for their "Super Voice Concert." Being their performing guest, Myolie is happy for these newcomers that they can perform on the stage of HK coliseum, even she is nervous as a guest.

Myolie will sing two songs in the concert, including Anita Mui's "芳華絕代." She would also dirty dance with members from "The Voice." She expressed: "I performed in HK coliseum before, but this time is the my first time singing my own song. (How is the effect of dirty dancing?) Director said it has to be flirtatious, the shirt also has some transparency effect. (TVB doesn't allow its artistes to play Weibo/Sina mini blog?) Never heard of this order, but I see Bosco Wong still playing it!"

'The Voice 2' -- 12-Year-Old Contestant Is Sent To Elimination Round

Source: Mingpao
Translated by: KAY
"The Voice 2" started filming yesterday. Out of a total of 20 contestants, two of them were the most special: 12-year-old Lam Shing Wai (林昇湋) and 27-year-old Emily Marion Chan from Canada. Judges Kenny Bee and Teresa Capiro expressed they won't go easy on a 12-year-old just because he's cute.

After Lam sang Westlife's "You Raise Me Up," judge Miss Chan Chan reminded him: "At every age, you should do things that suit you, should keep an innocent heart of a child to sing. Don't imitate the way adults sing, otherwise it would be like a child wearing his older brother's shirt." Lam only received 15 points and was kicked into elimination round. Emily, who sang Stefanie Sun's "My Love" (我的愛) only received 13 points.

Kenny Bee was asked will he let his daughter 鍾懿 to compete? He said: "Although she sings OK, but I only like to play with her as a parent, school is first priority. She won't be a professional singer, so she won't compete." It's said his daughters doesn't like to dream of being a star, so he should be carefree? He said: "She doesn't have to dream, because she already is a star. Everyone recognizes her on the streets. However, in order to study, she retired from 'showbiz' during elementary school. Actually I think it's OK to encourage her to participate in singing competition in school, but school is still first priority."

[Feature] The End Of 'The Voice': 巨聲真能成為巨星嗎?

Literally translation for the title: Can super voice really become a super star?

They use "super voice" (Chinese) to refer to the winner of TVB's singing contest show, The Voice. The Voice is supposedly a knock-off of US's American Idol, but really, I don't think winner of this show can actually become an "idol" nor the so called "super voice."

Look at its winners. The result is already announced more than two weeks ago. First place belongs to Mainland contestant, Wang Wen; Second: HK contestant, Ho Sze Wai; Third: Mainland contestant, Zhao Wen. The rest of those comforting awards are given to the ABC who did quite bad in his last performance, Lam Shi Kit, and the popular, fake Wu Zun, Hui Ting Hung. Just looking at the first place, and we all know she will not become a super star, at least in the Hong Kong music industry. It doesn't matter she has a good voice/super voice or not, it's not good enough to shape her into an actual star, or what I call "products." People in HK don't really care. Super star? NAH

Second place Ho Sze Wai is a potential star, however, she already said she will focus on her studies at this time, so that means she might release an album or something when she gets older. What's the point? She already lost the perfect timing and opportunity.

Other winners...."Best Improvement" & "Popularity Award"--they're not starry, both the award and people. No good, not good enough to be a "super star".

To sum it up, this show failed. It failed to produce a "super star" for its local industry. The act of adding Mainland and Taiwanese contestants after they won is RIDICULOUS. Unless you were there in show from the beginning and you won, I don't care where you're from; but winning the contest when you came during the show, it's not fair to the other contestants and the audience, who have been there since its first audition.

Prudence Liew is out from "The Voice"

TVB's royalty fee conflict with HKRIA isn't resolved and more and more singers are victimized. Earlier, singers under HKRIA missed TVB's "Jade Solid Gold Seasonal Rounds" and "TVB8 Golden Song Chart Awards Ceremony." Then, Fiona Sit and Jason Chan were suddenly out from a performance for Po Leung Kuk. Lately, Prudence Liew, who belongs to Universal, is notified that she doesn't have to come to film "The Voice" anymore (two episodes on January 3, and finale on January 23). Louis Cheung will host on his own on January 3 and Gary Chaw will co-host with him on the finale.

It's known that TVB leveled up its action: besides variety shows involve in singing, don't invite singers to film series until additional notification.

Said Prudence is just hosting, not singing at all, the producer of the show said, "This is a decision made by the company. Staffs from her record company will come into TVB with her. Under this circumstance, we shouldn't work together as much as possible."
