Retired Football Star Wan Chi-Keung Passed Away, Aged 53

Retired football star Wan Chi-Keung passed away at around 8:45am in February 16, aged 53. Sources said he fainted in his apartment at around 7:30am and was sent to the hospital immediately, but was certified dead due to organ failure. His girlfriend, Michelle Yim, family members, and friends were there with him to his end.

Wan was diagnosed of nasopharyngeal cancer in the early 90s. Although his condition improved after medical treatments, but starting at 2008, there were reports pointing out his cancer came back and he appeared very thin in the pictures taken by reporters. There were also reports saying Yim had to work hard to pay for high expense of her boyfriend's treatment.

No response from Yim at the moment. Edmond Leung, who is Wan's nephew, replied through his assistant: "Thank you for your concern."
