Niki Chow Gets Teary Easily

Niki Chow was shooting drama <我的如意狼君> in the studio yesterday. She was shooting a scene where she leaves home and her family searches for her. In the end, she and Ching Ho Wai, who plays her mother, hugs and cries together.

Before official shooting, Niki was putting herself into the character and her eyes were teary already; even the director told her to hold onto the tears! When it was time for the official shoot, her tears dropped immediately and the scene was done smoothly.

During interviews, Niki expressed she needs to cry a lot when filming this drama: "The plot is very touching. My tears would come out when I was reading it on my own. Then I cry during filming. There's another challenge for filming this drama, that is I have many lines, the longest is 7 pages long!"

Niki Chow Wants to Be Female Raymond Lam

Niki Chow and Raymond Wong attended to the blessing ceremony of their drama <我的如意狼君>. First time acting in a pre-modern drama, Niki feels fresh and already sees producer Lee Tim Sing as her lucky man. Everyone wishes Niki finds her ideal Mr. Right soon, and she said: "I can't wait myself. Let's see if I can find one after I finish filming this drama."

Niki's contract with BMA is over, asked whether she considers signing TVB as her management company, she said: "I can think about it. I want to be the female version of Raymond Lam, developing my career in the music, movie, and TV industry. It's great!"

Co-star Raymond Wong will have relationships with three women in the drama: Niki, Elaine Yiu, and Katy Kung; so it's hard to avoid intimate scenes. He said he bought a new camera and ready to take pics of his baby to be born soon.

As for when will his wife give birth, Raymond continues to keep it a mystery: "Almost, maybe I would leave during filming. I want to record the moment when I cut the umbilical cord."

Niki Chow Nervous About Filming New Drama

It's said Niki Chow is receiving a low pay from TVB when filming their dramas. The actress didn't deny nor confirm the report at an event she attended yesterday.

"I didn't read the report. But everyone knows I'm a low-income artist, so hope more people will invite me to different functions."

The event Niki attended yesterday was supported by her former boss from record company BMA. Niki just ended her contract with BMA but the two didn't seem to have a bad relationship with each other.  She is thankful to his help these years, and cleared up she didn't signed management contract with TVB; only per-series contract.

Haven't film a television drama for a long time, Niki is a little nervous about it.

"I'll start working after Chinese New Year. I don't know why I'm nervous. Maybe it's because this is my first time filming an early-republic drama. I hope to film this drama well."

Niki Chow Signs TVB, New Drama Conflict Resolved

Niki Chow has found a way out of an awkward position.

The singer is the desired female lead for producer Lee Tim Sing's new TVB drama <我的如意狼君>, but it was rumored the drama is facing a lead change due to the on-going royalty fee conflict: Niki's record company BMA is part of the HKRIA, which is currently in a dispute with TVB on royalty fee issues, and that put Niki in an awkward position,

Since Niki's contract with BMA ended and Lee refused to change female lead, the thought of signing artist contract with TVB is brought up. Lee confirmed that Niki has signed an artist contract with TVB. Because the contract is officially in effect starting February, she will not attend to the drama's costume fitting on the 17th but will be back on February 8 after she went to a show in the US.

Niki is now a TVB artist but she will not give up her singing career. She is currently picking a new record company to continue her career as a singer.

Niki Chow Out From New Drama Due to Royalty Fee Dispute

Not only it is affecting the Hong Kong music industry, the on-going royalty fee dispute is now affecting TV dramas.

Already confirmed as the female lead of producer Lee Tim Sing's new drama <我的如意狼君>, Niki Chow could be out from the drama due to the royalty fee dispute between HKRIA and TVB. It is known TVB high executive Stephen Chan, who resumed his title as General Manager recently, ordered to remove the BMA singer from the cast list.

Although he does not want this to happen, but producer of this drama Lee is prepared for cast changes: "I'm worried that it might affect my new drama. I've asked the Artiste Department and they told me will officially notify me if there's any changes. I'm quite helpless and I can't change their policy. They will give me an answer within these two days, but I'm prepared for it to happen."

Assistant director from the Artiste Management Department in BMA said they heard of the rumor but has yet received a reply from TVB.

The royalty fee dispute has been preventing HKRIA singers to appear in any TVB music programs and to be interviewed by TVB hosts. Although there was a turning point earlier, but now it is officially back to where it stands before. The dispute continues as TVB released a statement yesterday, saying they will not broadcast "Ultimate Song Chart Awards 2010" and "RTHK Top 10 Chinese Gold Songs Awards 2010."
