Ronald Cheng Confirms Girlfriend is Pregnant

Ronald Cheng is a dad-to-be!

The pregnancy rumor of the singer's girlfriend Sammie Yu has been out for a while now but it had yet been confirmed. Even when Ronald was asked about it recently, he still didn't say anything. However, yesterday he released a short statement, confirming he is welcoming a child.

"Thank you all for your concerns and reports about me and girlfriend Sammi Yu lately. To avoid tiring everyone, now I confirmed this through my management company: my girlfriend is indeed pregnant. I hope after I confirmed this, I can receive respect and understanding from all media. Please give me, Sammie, and our family some personal space. We will definitely share more happy news with you in the future. Thank you for your concerns!"

It's known the 39-year-old is trying to protect his 4-months-pregnant girlfriend, and that's why he decided to release this statement. Plus the rumors are already out, if he doesn't say anything about it, it's not fair to her.

Other artists are happy for Ronald, including Ronald's ex-wife Charlene Choi. She generously congratulates him, wishing them happy forever.

Ronald has dated Miriam Yeung and rumored with Cecilia Cheung in the past. He even secretly married Charlene in 2006, but the marriage ended 4 years later. After the divorce is finalized earlier this year, he immediately fell for Cable TV anchor Sammie, who is now carrying his first child.

Ah Sa & Ronald Cheng Still Not Legally Divorced Yet

Although Charlene Choi (Ah Sa) and Ronald Cheng already announced they split, but it is known it was not until in mid October that Ronald finally agreed to file divorce, which means Ah Sa was still Mrs. Cheng when she started dating new beau William Chan!

According to a magazine report, Ronald always wanted to reconcile with Ah Sa, but Ah Sa's new relationship broke Ronald's heart completely. He finally decided to deal with the divorce process in the end.

Last night, Ronald replied to the incident, expressing having a technical problem and it is technically processing. He hopes everyone to stop being suspicious because they already told everything in the press conference.

As for Ah Sa, she disclosed she and Ronald have been separated for about a year and finished all the necessary process. She also pointed out lawyers will handle the rest and there is nothing for she and Ronald could do.

The singer also expressed her feelings on Weibo yesterday, saying it i hard to make everyone happy. "Really is hard...I only want to try my best to satisfy some people...I'll be very happy...because...I can make others happy...this is my biggest happiness!"

Ah Sa's current boyfriend William Chan was asked about the incident yesterday when he attended to a cellphone event. He tried to avoid the topic originally. "Just what the magazine wrote," he said. Then he added, "Don't really know about it [the divorce]. I believe their lawyers are handling it." He stressed he will support her all the way. "I trust her 100%. It's more important for us to be happy."

Ronald Cheng and Ah Sa No Oppose To Play A Couple On-screen

Although they couldn't be husband and wive, Ronald Cheng and Charlene Choi (Ah Sa) are still friends. Lately there's a report from Mainland saying a director planned to make martial arts novel '萍擪俠影錄' into a TV series. He wanted to invite couples or husband and wife in the showbiz to act. It was reported the team once invited Ronald and Ah Sa, who didn't file for divorce yet. But they didn't want to be in the same series together and scared off the team with a demand of 8 million pay.

Ah Sa attended to izzue fashion show yesterday and she expressed she never heard anyone inviting her and Ronald to film as a couple, so she felt the report is quite humorous. Company didn't notify her? She said: "Shouldn't be. If if there is an offer, still have to look at the scripts first. But I'll go Beijing to film '翡翠明珠.' Soon I'll film '財神客棧' with Nicolas Tse and Barbie Hsu. Jobs are arranged till November." If scripts are suitable, paid is high, will she work with her ex-husband again? Ah Sa said: "Might try it if I'm free. I don't oppose. How much pay will make me say yes? I only like to film, company will decide the amount of money."

Just returned being single again, Ah Sa doesn't want to start dating right now. If Ronald starts to pursue her again, will she say yes and reunite? She only said: "Depends on fate, we'll see if it's suitable." Talked about earlier she was on the same stage with Ronald for Qinghai relief, did she pay attention to his performance? Ah Sa said: "I watched B gor gor and his daughter. I really didn't see Ronald Cheng!"

Ronald attended to a Nokia event and also expressed besides a company said they hope he and Ah Sa will film 'Happy Home 2010' (花田囍事2010) together (Ah Sa had no free spot so she couldn't make it), no other companies have ever approach to them like the report claimed. Ronald stressed he doesn't mind working with Ah Sa. Depending on the story of the script, it wouldn't be a problem even if they have to play a married couple. Reporters said his response is just like Ah Sa's, Ronald said: "This is the fact! We're friends. It's still good if we have chances to work together."

Ronald Cheng: Many Opportunity to Support Ah Sa

Last show of Twins' concert ended two nights ago and Ah Sa's ex-husband Ronald Cheng never went to support. Yesterday Ronald held a dinner banquet to celebrate good box office of his new film "Just Another Pandora's Box" (越光寶盒). Asked why didn't he go to support Ah Sa's concert? He explained that he was busy recording news songs in Taiwan, that's why he couldn't take time to watch the show; but he did text Ah Sa, wishing her a good show. Too bad that he missed Twins' show this time? He said: "It's not like they're not going to sing again, must have other opportunities, look at The Wynners, they said they're not going sing again, but has been singing these past 30 years."

As for TVB's "Fun With Liza and Gods" mocked his press conference, he said: "I'm interested in watching that episode. I looked at their pictures and think they did a good job portraying, even the clothes are very much alike. (feel unhappy being portrayed?) No! I portrayed many people too!"

Johnson Lee & Wong Cho Lam Portray Ronald Cheng & Ah Sa

TVB's new variety show "Fun With Liza and Gods" (荃加福祿壽) was shooting their latest episode. Angela Tong and HotCha were invited as guests, but they weren't as attention-grabbing as Johnson Lee and Wong Cho Lam, who portrayed Ronald Cheng and Ah Sa during their press conference. Johnson also portrayed Andy Lau in the scene where Andy and his wife were at the airport.

During the clip, Johnson and Cho Lam are 射葱喱 and 蔡桌鹽 (close homophones of Ronald and Ah Sa's Chinese names). Their hair styles, clothing, and emotions are the same as Ronald and Ah Sa's during their conference. They edited the secret marriage incident into "eating pig intestines secretly." It's about "Bonald" admitted that he and "Ah Cha" went to LA to eat pig intestines. They handled it as a private matter so they didn't announce it to everyone. "Bonald," portrayed by Johnson, said: "These years everyone keeps on guessing whether we eat things in secret or not, fish intestines, pig intestines, rice roll or even human intestines? Actually we just ate pig intestines."

"Bonald" said even although he can't continue to eat pig intestines with Ah Cha together, but they had the precious moments of eating pig intestines secretly. Then Johnson pretended to cry like Ronald did. "Ah Cha" next to him gave him some tissue and comforted him.

Then "Ah Cha" spoke up. "She" admitted they started to eat pig intestines in Wong Kwok and now in LA, but they knew what they were doing, and it was to eat pig intestines around the world. "She" said: "I thought this was our little secret, but in fact greedy people have no privacy, we decided not to eat pig intestines ever again."

As for portraying Ah Sa, Cho Lam already texted to notify Ah Sa about it. Asked the most difficult thing in portraying her, Cho Lam said it's her feelings because he felt a little sorry, since it's something sad. He already suggested producer to cut off some scenes.

Exclusive Insights in Ronald Cheng and Ah Sa's Relationship

I.  Sa-Kei's Relationship
From getting married to now divorce, Ronald Cheng and Charlene Choi (Ah Sa)'s relationship is quite unstable. Most suspicious thing is that several months ago, Ah Sa said Ronald wasn't as bad as others thought he is. When asked what Valentine's Day gift will he give to Ah Sa, Ronald even said "camera" (homophone in Cantonese meaning 'missing kei,' missing Cheng Chung Kei--Ronald's Chinese Name).

In fact, their relationship has been getting worse for a while already. According to a reliable source, about a year ago, one of their parents attended to a dinner party and was asked about Sa-Kei's relationship, that parent accidentally exposed: "They broke up la!" In the end, that parent knew he/she said something wrong and stopped commenting.

After getting married in 2006, Sa-Kei enjoyed several years of honeymoon period. Ronald would call Ah Sa and SMS her everyday. Whenever he received a call from Ah Sa, whether it was during filming or meeting, he would walk away and answered the phone. Some people witnessed that he would say romantic words to the caller every time he's on the phone.

Ronald also understands that it would get a little boring giving too much normal gifts to Ah Sa. Friends of Ah Sa disclosed when Ah Sa and her dad's book was released during 2008 book fair, Ronald sent someone secretly to buy her book (hundreds at one time), making her very happy.

II.  Drinking and Self-injuring
However, things started to change about two years ago. Because partner Gillian Chung was involved in Edison Chen's sex scandal, Twins was forced to disband for a while. Ah Sa got busy everyday and also got maturer. A source said: "Ronald didn't want to become CEO of Gold Typhoon. His dad wasn't the one who got mad the most, it was really Ah Sa. She felt he didn't know how to think about their future." Also, Ronald continued to be flirty and playful. There are several times Ah Sa found out he met girls in secret, making her propose to break up. In the past year, Ronald couldn't accept the reality of break-up and begged Ah Sa to reunite with him. Their relationship wasn't stable at all and according to Ronald's friends, Ronald went to drink often to relieve stress. He invited friends to drink three nights a week, and bruises and injuries are visible. Reporters indeed found redness and bruises on Ronald's hands and wrist the day of Sa-Kei's breaking press conference. In the beginning of this year, Ronald once again won back Ah Sa's heart and thought everything would be alright. But then Ah Sa and Ah Gill regrouped as Twins to hold concerts. Ronald often disclosed his close relationship with Ah Sa, making Ah Sa feel Ronald didn't know what is the priority and proposed to break up again. Soon their marriage is exposed completely, making Ah Sa sure of the break-up. Ronald was helpless and gave in.

III. Well-Planned Marriage in 2006
After Sa-Kei confirmed they got married in 2006, many of their friends came out and exposed more details about the trip of marriage. On January 29, 2006 (Chinese New Year), Ah Sa and her mom already planned everything: get to ShenZheng airport, fly to Beijing, then transfer to Los Angeles. Ah Sa originally invited two friends to her wedding, but one of them couldn't make it; only "4-Eye See," who was once the leader of paparazzi, could attend. Ronald strongly objected this idea before because he worried she's a spy and will expose everything. But Ah Sa said "4-Eye See" can get rid of paparazzi and convinced Ronald to bring her along.
Magazine Eastweek exclusively followed Ah Sa and her people arriving ShenZheng, flying to Beijing, and transferring to LA. Ah Sa wore a hat at that time, tried to keep everything low. When they found out they're being followed, Ah Sa sent "4-Eye See" to talk to reporters and eventually walked into the gate of international flight last minute.

As for Ronald and his father, they flied to LA in HK international airport a day before Ah Sa. He disclosed he was visiting mother and sister in LA. According to sources, the next day Sa-Kei met up, they hold a wedding ceremony immediately in a small church called Church of Christ. Because they must make a request in order to hold the ceremony, it proved that they didn't improvised their marriage. People who attended to the ceremony only included Ah Sa's mother, "4-Eye See," Ronald's parents, and three close relatives from the Cheng family. After the wedding, they hosted a 2-tables dinner in a local restaurant.

Charlene Choi Clears Up That She Doesn't Know Ma Huateng

Although Charlene Choi (Ah Sa) and Ronald Cheng have been saying that their divorce didn't involve in any third wheel, but their statements cannot stop more and more rumors exposing. A magazine yesterday even included Mainland entrepreneur, chair of Tencent Ma Huateng into the incident. Ah Sa's manager Mani Fok stresed Ah Sa doesn't know Ma at all.

Because Ah Sa appeared to be calmer than the emotional Ronald in their press conference, many suggested that she doesn't want a reunion at all and they made guesses for the the divorce. Earlier they said it was Ronald's unfaithfulness that caused the split, but now they're targeting Ah Sa. Yesterday a magazine pointed out Ah Sa got to know a 38-year-old "he." "He" is married and has kids already, who owns shares of Tencent and net worth is more than hundred billion.

The magazine reported it was Ah Sa's mother who introduced "him" to Ah Sa. Because Ah Sa didn't get to see Ronald that often due to busy work, plus Ronald has been unfaithful, she finally decided to file divorce. Although he tried to save their marriage, Ronald still couldn't win back Ah Sa's heart.

Reporters tried to contact publicist of Tencent Miss Chen, but she expressed she is currently in London and didn't read any relevant report, so she cannot reply at the moment.

Attended to the premier of "Beauty On Duty" yesterday, Ah Sa denied once again about the existence of third wheel and she went home afterward. Manager Mani Fok denied knowing the rich entrepreneur, she said: "Ah Sa really doesn't know Mr. Ma. Although she was interviewed by Tencent when she was in Mainland, but she doesn't remember meeting him. Now it has become endless. Rumors are getting ridiculous!"

Ah Sa & Ronald Cheng Announce Divorce With Tears

After they split, rumors of Charlene Choi (Ah Sa) and Ronald Cheng were married popped out. Yesterday they held a press conference at 9PM for this issue. Nearly hundreds of media came to report. Once the two arrived, they first let reporters to take pictures of them, then Ronald spoke first,

"Marriage is a fact. We made this decision happily in 2006. We received support from both parents and got married in Los Angeles. These past years, I and Ah Sa both believe this is our private matters, no need to announce it to everyone. And we both agreed to handle it this way. (Looking at Ronald, Ah Sa nodded her head). I know others had guessed about our relationship and continued to report inaccurately. This made us believe there is a need to explain everything. This is the first and last time we will explain to everyone!"

"We lived very happily these past years of our marriage. During this period, we both grew up and understood more about each other, and found out that break-up is a better choice for both of us in the future. So recently when we announced our break-up, we actually made this decision thoughtfully. This decision is a fact! I stress one more time, our break-up didn't involve any third wheel, nor it involved in anything others reported!"

"I believe our divorce is the question others will continue to ask about. We're handling it right now. We will do everything we are required to do. Even though...(Ronald was choked with sob, his tears fell, Ah Sa patted him lightly on the shoulder.) Even though we couldn't become husband and wife (sobbed), but we (sobbed again) did have a very happy time. We'll be friends forever in the future (wiped his tears with tissue). Thank you everyone! Hope everyone will give some personal space for us, thank you!"

After he spoke for 4 minutes, Ah Sa spoke,

"From the beginning, dating Ronald, marrying him and now breaking up, we both have consensus to do every decision. And it's our decision. We decided to get married, and received support from family and friends. So we always think this is our own matter and didn't choose to tell everyone about it. This is our privacy, really want this to be our own little secret!"

"Although we're artistes, but we still think artistes should have their own privacy. But in fact...(started to cry) in fact artistes cannot have their own privacy! Causing this incident to involve other people (cried again), involved different people and other things! Never choose to publicize this because we agreed to protect our relationships, us, our family, but now it harmed many people, and I don't want this to continue. So today I explained this to everyone. Hoping everyone will give more space to us, we are still friends. (Ronald looked at her and Ah Sa nodded). Hope we'll live in a pleasant life in the future!"

After Ah Sa spoke for about 3 minutes, the two stood up and bowed to the media off-stage. They left together in the end. The whole conference lasted for about 9 minutes.

In addition, EEG's Mani Fok expressed the company didn't know about Ah Sa's marriage and even divorce: "We didn't know about it. This is artistes' private life. We never interfere with anything. Anyways we hope Ah Sa to have happiness."

Gigi Leung Treats Ronald Cheng As A Human Kite

Source: The Sun
Translated by: KAY@kays-entertainment.blogspot.com
There are many funny scenes in up-coming movie "Just Another Pandora's Box." In one scene, Gigi Leung flied Ronald on the sky as a kite. Ronald sighed: "It's already hard to film ancient stories in the summer. The temperature that day was over 40C. The crew were sweating in their sleeveless shirt. I was wearing a costume with heavy fur that day. It was a miracle that I didn't have a heat stroke."

Translated by: KAY@PA
Ronald Cheng attended to Happy Home 2010's promotion yesterday. Asked did he go to rumored girlfriend Charlene Choi (Ah Sa)'s home to wish her a happy new year, he responded vaguely, trying to avoid answering the question. He finally admitted calling her house after numerous questioning from the reporters: "I didn't go, but I paid them a new year call on the phone." His face blushed when talking about Ah Sa and he was teased by reporters. He explained: "The weather is cold that face hurts, that's why it's red."

Asked again did he buy Ah Sa a Valentine's Day gift, he said: "I wanted to give a camera initially, but Sandra Ng exposed my idea. I have to think of another one again."
