'Zhong Wu Yen' Has Less Sympathetic Response, Cheryl Yang Still Supports Ratings

Ratings of Ming Dao and Cheryl Yang's "Zhong Wu Yen" (TTV/SETTV) dropped compared to its first week, dropping from 2.70 to 2.16 and losing 210,000 fans. Although they still topped the ratings chart as number one, but "Summer's Desire" at second place is following closely with ratings of 1.83. "Zhong Wu Yen"s popularity didn't meet expectation. In the past, TTV/SETTV's "My Queen" and "Fated to Love You" are hit discussions among netizens. But "Zhong Wu Yen" cannot create this wave on the internet. Besides using old story points and rigid characters, the birthmark on female lead's face is said to be too ugly, plus there aren't too many people out there that share the same experience. The drama cannot create a sympathetic response from most viewers, because it's not a common phenomenon like "marital underdog" and "pregnancy before marriage" etc, which are easier to move fans.

But yesterday Ming Dao, Cheryl Yang, and Chris Wu Kang Ren still hold a celebration event for the drama. The crew even prepared Chinese herb tea to help them relieve summer heat. Ming Dao and Chris Wu are heartache at Cheryl, who has to film under the sun, so they provided a special massage service for her.

Ming Dao Has Been Thirsty For 3 Years, Peeks at Cheryl Yang's Boobs

Ming Dao exposed he has been single for 3 years. He doesn't care Cheryl Yang and her rumored-boyfriend Harry Chang, even when Cheryl's skin was covered up, Ming Dao still peeked at her boobs, seems like he is very thirsty.

In TTV/SETTV's 「鍾無艷」 ("Zhong Wu Yen"), every character has his/her flaw. Ming Dao self-reflected he is too emotional, and it's inheridital: his mom is just like that. He said because of that he gave love, even when he goes out to eat he is afraid he might be photographed, so he must be careful when picking his date, he said: "Must have a heart of must-die, I also want to have dinner with Cheryl, but afraid might get photographed." Ming Dao can only focus in working out, but he doesn't like to have visible muscles, and isn't dared to offend other male artistes.

In addition, Wu Kangren's rumored girlfriend Alice Tzeng is photographed dating with other people. Yesterday he said: "I only talk to her on the phone, plus going to see a movie is very normal. In this world, there are just boys and girls, she can't just only watch it with girls!"

Ming Dao is Afraid Not Prettier Than Cheryl Yang, Lost 2kg

Ming Dao returned to idol drama market in Taiwan, filming TTV/SETTV's new drama 《鐘無艷》 "Chong Wu Yan." Yesterday he and female lead Cheryl Yang met the first time on set. Because he doesn't want to be less pretty than Cheryl, he found a professional trainer to help him lose weight. He lost 2kg since filming.

Ming Dao and Cheryl once collaborated in "Angel Lover" in 2006. Ming Dao was already the top actor of SETTV and Cheryl was still trying hard to be the lead actress. After 3 years, the two continue their "acting fate." Cheryl is now a popular lead actress. Ming Dao praised her got prettier; Cheryl returned the favor, saying he is friendly and lively.

Idol drama is now in a trend that male leads have to take off their clothes. Ming Dao is losing weight for the drama, whether he plans to feed viewers' eyes with his body? He joked: "If there is, I would show it in a healthy attitude."

Talked about the type of girl he likes, he said he's not those who look solely at looks. When looking at a girl, he would look at her eyes first. He admires girls whose personality is calm and reasonable, type of girls "like Cheryl Yang."

Cheryl plays Chong Wu Yan, who has a red birthmark on her face. She hide her unconfidence of her appearance with a strong personality. Cheryl said, everyone's imperfection is unique, so he would accept herself completely. Talked about love, she thinks "inner heart is more important."

Ming Dao Returns to SETTV to Film New Idol Drama

Source: UDN
Translated by: KAY
After Ming Dao filmed idol drama "Ying Ye 3+1" three years ago, because his pay was too low so he went to Mainland to expand his career. As idol drama king, his pay increased to 710,000NTD per episode. These three years, Ming Dao's "Smile In My Heart" and "Knock Knock Loving You" etc couldn't make a breakthrough to his record when he was in SETTV. In order to keep his popularity in both Mainland and Taiwan, Ming Dao is willing to give up high pay in Mainland and return to Taiwan, trying to stablize his market.

These years Ming Dao and Ethan Ruan are being compared to each other. In 2005, Ming Dao gained popularity with SETTV's "The Prince Who Turns Into a Frog." He then refused to film "Fated to Love You," and Ethan took this advantage and replaced Ming Dao. "Fated to Love You"s ratings broke Ming Dao's record and became the idol drama with the highest ratings so far. It's hard not to think Ming Dao regretted his choice.

SETTV's upcoming idol drama "Chong Wu Yan" (鐘無艷) has been having conflict in finding male lead. From Ethan Ruan to Eddie Peng, but because Ethan wants to pursue his movie career, and Eddie demands a high pay, they both didn't make it. Now Ming Dao is back to Taiwan, SETTV would rebuild his image in this new drama.
